Összefoglalás:
Hogy pontosan hány fotográfia készült a fényképezés hivatalos feltalálása – az 1839-es esztendő – óta, annak számát még csak megbecsülni sem lehet. Az azonban bizonyos, hogy a fotó, mint tárgyi emlék, a helytörténet, illetve a helytörténetírás szempontjából kiemelkedő jelentőségű. A képi emlékek megmentése, gondos adatbázisba rendezésének és bemutatásának igénye vezetett el jelen írásom megszületéséhez is. Helytörténeti könyvtárosként és archaikus fotográfusként egyaránt érdeklődésem középpontjában álltak és állnak mai is a fényképezés korai időszakában készült és a századforduló életét, épületeit és eseményeit bemutató fényképfelvételek. Saját gyűjteményem mellett igyekszem a vezetésemre bízott könyvtár közvetlen környezetében – a mai XXIII. kerület, Soroksár – fellelhető képi emlékeket is gondosan megőrizni. Az itt alkotó fotográfusok az 1873-as Budapest-egyesítés és az 1950-es esztendőben létrejövő Nagy-Budapest határán túl élve és alkotva igyekeztek kiszolgálni az itt élő emberek igényeit. Az első itt tevékenykedő fotósok egyike áll jelen tanulmány középpontjában: Borsy Imre Lajos Béla.

Abstract:
Exactly how many photographs have been taken since the official invention of photography in 1839 cannot even be estimated. What is certain, however, is that the photograph as an artefact is of outstanding importance for local history and local historiography. It was the need to preserve these visual memories and to organise and present them in a careful database that led to the of this article. As both a local history librarian and an archaic photographer, I have been and still am interested in the early photographic record of the turn of the century, in the life, buildings and events of the area. In addition to my own collection, I also try to carefully preserve the pictorial memories of the immediate surroundings of the library I am in charge of – today‘s XXIII district, Soroksár. The photographers who worked here lived and worked beyond the boundaries of the unification of Budapest in 1873 and the Greater Budapest of the 1950s, trying to serve the needs of the people who lived here. Imre Lajos Béla Borsy, one of the first photographers to work here, is the focus of this study.
