Összefoglaló:
Helyismereti könyvtárosként az elmúlt év során számos soroksári illetőségű intézmény és épített kulturális örökség dokumentumait és történetét ismerhettem meg, rálátást nyertem a Historia Domus értékes és érdekes történeteire, a kereskedelmi-gazdasági események mozgatórugóira, valamint Budapest legfiatalabb kerületének kialakulásának történetére egyaránt. E szövevényes és sokrétű információhálón keresztül egy mind ez idáig érintetlen, feldolgozatlan területre bukkantam: a soroksári zsidó hitközség és az izraelita temető történetének feldolgozása még váratott magára.
A soroksári izraelita temető történetének feltárása, emlékeinek megőrzése nem csupán a kerület helyismereti köreinek, egyesületeinek, de a zsidó hitközségnek is fontos volt, így e hiánypótló kutatás került az érdeklődésem középpontjába, amellyel az 1947 óta eltelt közel 80 év adatolási hiányát kívánom pótolni, és összegezni mindazt, ami talán e temetőből a jövőnek megmenthető. Jelen dolgozat ennek a közel száz esztendőnek a történetét kívánja összefoglalni, sok esetben csak érintőleges módon. Az bizonyos, hogy a kutatás kibővítése és a temető sírjainak teljes feltérképezése után egy nagyobb lélegzetvételű összefoglalás születik majd, amely a maga teljességében tárhatja az érdeklődők elé az itt élt zsidó hitű emberek életét, hétköznapjait és családi kötelékeit egyaránt.

Abstract:
During the past year, as a local history librarian, I have been able to learn about the documents and history of several Soroksár institutions and built cultural heritage, the valuable and interesting stories of the Historia Domus, the driving forces of commercial and economic events, and the history of the development of Budapest’s youngest district. Through this intricate and multifaceted web of information, I discovered an area that had been untouched and unprocessed until then: the history of the Jewish community of Soroksár and the Israelite cemetery was still to be researched.
The exploration of the history of the Soroksár Jewish cemetery, the preservation of its memories was important not only for the local history circles and associations of the district, but also for the Jewish community, so this gap-filling research became the focus of my interest, with which I wish to fill the data gap of almost 80 years since 1947 and summarize all that can perhaps be saved from this cemetery for the future. This essay aims to summarise the history of those nearly one hundred years, in many cases only tangentially. What is certain is that, once the research has been extended and the graves in the cemetery have been fully mapped, a more comprehensive summary will be produced, which will give a full picture of the lives, daily lives and family ties of the Jewish people who lived there.
