Tanulmányom az egykor Pápán működő állami tanítóképző intézet első néhány évének, illetve tanulóinak mindennapjait mutatja be. Nem az adott korszakban keletkezett hivatalos dokumentumok alapján láthatjuk az intézmény első tanéveinek történetét, hanem egy tanulmányait éppen ekkor kezdő diáknak, Füzi Mihálynak barátaihoz írt levelei tükrében. E levelek tartalma szubjektív, eredendően nem a széles nyilvánosság számára szánt. Ugyanakkor az iskola életének e sajátos szempontú, a diák szemszögéből történő rögzítése sok érdekes adattal egészíti ki s ezzel mintegy elevenné teszi a hivatalos iskolatörténetet. Az is egyértelműen kirajzolódik, hogy a diákok pályaválasztása, iskolaválasztása az adott korszak iskolarendszerének keretein belül mennyire függ a család társadalmi és anyagi helyzetétől.

Abstract:
My study presents the everyday life of the first few years of the former state teacher training institute in Pápa and its students. We can see the history of the institution’s first academic years not on the basis of official documents from that era, but through letters written to his friends by Mihály Füzi, a student who was just starting his studies. The content of these letters is subjective and not inherently intended for the general public. At the same time, recording the life of the school from this particular point of view, from the student’s point of view, adds a lot of interesting data, thus bringing the official school history alive. It is also clear that students’ career choices and school choices within the framework of the school system of the given era also depended on the social and financial situation of the family.
